Rosie Does Tumblr
Having mentioned in my last post that there are GetGlue spammers posting to Tumblr and filling tags (one I looked at, posted that it had been watching several films all within the last three minutes) and the Contraband page had something like 19 our of 20 posts over two pages which were GetGlue announcements.
So, having identified one which was definitely a spam account, (and here are some I haven’t blocked, yet: one, two, three, four - 4000+hits for one page of content? And I’m sure this guy watches Downton Abbey while simultaneously listening to Attack! Attack! and Kelly Clarkson and thinking about 2012…) I went to see if there was an automatic way to report accounts, seeing as they weren’t on my feed and all I could do was block them.
Tumblr, however, is so ridiculously entrenched in its own pathetic little war against Missing e, that it will not even allow you to REPORT ITS OWN SPAMMERS.
So, in addition to scaremongering and trying to harass and intimidate its users out of using an entirely harmless browser extension, it is actually refusing to allow users to help them cleanse the website of rapid-posting spam accounts which, realistically, you’d think it would want to remove because their contentless promotion of another social network is probably weighing on their servers.
The idiocy of it utterly beggars belief.
